Follow the Money - A Digital Guide to Tracking Corruption

Knight Fellow Paul Radu created a new digital handbook designed to help investigative journalists track corruption across borders. The handbook provides an array of new tools for investigative journalists that will help them give the public a better understanding of regional and global criminal networks. The manual includes new techniques in cross-border investigative journalism and lists of Web sites and databases with information about commercial enterprises worldwide.

Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project

Paul Radu is a the executive director of the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. He was, during 2009-2010, in residence at Stanford University in California as a Knight fellow. He began his career as an investigator for then Romania’s best selling newspaper, Evenimentul Zilei in1998. He has held a number of fellowships, including the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowship in 2001, the Milena Jesenska Press Fellowship in 2002, the Rosalyn Carter Fellowship for Mental Health Journalism in 2007, and in 2008, he became a Knight International Journalism Fellow for the Romanian Center for Investigative Journalism. In 2003, he co-founded the Romanian Center for Investigative Journalism, and in 2006, he helped found the Organized Crime and Corruption Project, which works on cross-border investigative projects in the Balkans. He is the recipient of numerous awards including in 2004, the Knight International Journalism Award and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Award, in 2007, the Global Shining Light Award, and in 2008, he was again member of a team receiving the Tom Renner Investigative Reporters and Editors Award. Paul is also an advisor with the World Economic Forum www.weforum.org on organized crime issues.
